Foster and Adoptive Homes Needed!

Hyme -35 year old male Amazon Parrot
Double Yellow Headed Amazon Parrot
Hyme lived with his previous owner for the last 29 years and has been in rescue since September 2009. Hyme says Hello, Hi Bird, Wolf and other whistles and usually only vocalizes when he is asking for something -- maybe a treat, possible move to another play stand, or it is his bedtime. Hyme's diet consists mostly of grains, fresh veggies and fruits, pellets, and some seed.  Hymes new home should have a place away from the rest of the flock but with daily visiting privileges to interact (mostly sit and watch) the comings and goings of the household (including the feathered members).

Fred, a very sweet grey male Cockatiel
Fred's previous owner tells us that he believes Fred to be in his 20's. Fred is very active and spry for his age. You can hardly tell that he's in his senior years. Fred is friendly and sociable and he steps up nicely when asked. He loves kisses on his soft little tummy and for you to put your face near his and wolf whistle. He LOVES to impress you with his whistling! Fred has been in rescue since 2/2007. His adoption fee is $25.

bluebell.jpg

Blue Belle is a 25+ year old blue front amazon. We are unsure of her sex but tend to call Blue Belle a female. Blue Belle is a very nice amazon, not prone to biting, but a little timid... which is fine by us, a timid bird is easier to work with than a biter! Blue Belle loves to chat it up and will make a beautiful, charming companion for the lucky person who decides to give her a home. She is a real sweetheart and gentle for an amazon. Blue Belle's adoption fee is $250. She has been in rescue since 9/2009.

Clover is a sweet, easily handled, tame, 6 year old, male Quaker parakeet. Clover went to the vet the week of 9/20/09 and it was diagnosed that he has cataracts in both eyes and has limited if no vision. Clover is learning to cope with his new disability and will benefit from having items in his environment (e.g. the perches in his cage) stay the same so that he can easily find his way around. With a little TLC and understanding Clover could be a great companion for that lucky adopter! Clover's adoption fee is $50. Clover has been in rescue since 10/16/05

Birds Needing To Come Into Rescue

A woman in southern Oregon is losing her home and must place several birds. EBR has already taken in several of her birds and found foster homes for them, but there are 5 left.  They are currently being housed in outdoor cages and must be moved as soon as possible.  IF YOU CAN HELP, PLEASE CONTACT US (541-461-4333).  These birds are:

2 pionus (caged together)
2 greencheek conures (caged separately; one has a permanently injured beak that requires him to have pureed food)
1 nanday conure

Donations needed!
As always, we desperately need your donations to help keep up with mounting veterinary and food bills, our two biggest costs when it comes to taking in birds. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to our general fund so that we don't have to turn any birds away. Send donations to: Exotic Bird Rescue, PO Box 40041, Eugene, OR 97404. You can also donate online using Pay Pal at the link below. Please call 541-461-4333 with questions.

Foster homes needed!
Because we currently handle rescues over a large portion of Oregon, we are desperately in need of foster homes. If you would like to become a foster home please call 541-461-4333 for more information.
